Its building was launched in 1980 to be finished in 1989.the mosque was inaugurated in 1993.

- 25 000 faithful people can come to pry in a room of 60 metres of height and 200 metres of length.

- The roof of this room weighs 1100 tons and it is opened on the sky in a record time.
It contains a laser ray which indicates the Mecque from a range of 30 km.

- It has cost more than 400 millions euros.
- More than 300 persons works the whole year here.
- It is the largest mosque in the maghreb and surely the most beautiful.
